Brampton Regional Councillor Rowena Santos re-elected to FCM Board

​BRAMPTON, ON (June 7, 2022) – At its Annual General Meeting, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) announced Brampton Regional Councillor Rowena Santos has been re-elected to its Board of Directors for a one-year term, from 2022 to 2023.

FCM has been the national voice of Canada’s municipal government since 1901. Members include more than 2,000 municipalities from across the country, representing more than 90 per cent of all Canadians. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Annual Conference and Trade Show was held in a hybrid format from June 2 to 5, with this year’s theme being Together for Recovery, reinforcing the essential role of municipalities as drivers for a strong and inclusive recovery.

The Conference provided an opportunity for the City of Brampton to discuss key issues and to advocate for support and funding from the Federal Government for the following:

• A commitment to building better transit;
• Sustainable funding to implement active transportation infrastructure and programs;
• Investments to advance climate change adaption and resilience; and,
• Investments in economic development and recovery, jobs and growth.
