June is Parks and Recreation Month and Seniors Month in Brampton!

​BRAMPTON, ON (June 1, 2022) – The City of Brampton is celebrating Parks and Recreation Month and Seniors Month with special events, activities and free programs in June.
Take part in fun-filled events that the City will host throughout the month:


National Health and Fitness Day – Saturday, June 4, 10 am to 12 pm
Participate in a fitness scavenger hunt, outdoor Zumba(™) class and a Sweat and Fete cardio class demo, and explore fitness and wellness booths at Chinguacousy Park. The first 150 participants will receive a coupon redeemable for a 10-day fitness membership trial at Brampton recreation centres. Registration is not required. Click here for details.

Seniors summer program registration – starting Monday, June 6
Seniors Centre memberships are resuming at the Bob Callahan Flower City Seniors Centre. Registration for sessional programs begins June 6 and programs begin July 4. Click here for details.

Seniors Springfest – Friday, June 17, 12 to 3 pm
Brampton residents aged 55+ and caretakers are invited to a lunch and dance event at Century Gardens Recreation Centre. This event is proudly presented by Amica Peel Village. Registration is required. Click here for details and registration.

International Yoga Day – Tuesday, June 21, 7 to 9 pm
Join a free outdoor yoga class at Mount Pleasant Community Centre. Participants are requested to donate a non-perishable food item and must bring their own non-slip yoga mat or towel to use on the grass. The first 100 participants will receive a coupon redeemable for a 10-day fitness membership trial at Brampton recreation centres. Registration is not required. Click here for details.

Free drop-in programs – all month
The City will host free drop-in programs for June is Parks and Recreation Month and June is Seniors Month. Pre-registration is not required for visits to recreation centres, however, it is recommended that visitors register for programs in advance as all services are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hike, bike and walk through Brampton’s parks and recreational trails. The City offers more than 40 kilometres of guided and paved recreational trails throughout Brampton. Click here for details.
