Now in its fourth season, this program celebrates residents who are beautifying Brampton one garden at a time. Last year, the City received approximately 110 photo submissions and aims to celebrate even more local front gardens this year.

How to the recognition program

Residents can submit photos of their front gardens by August 1, 2025, following these guidelines:

  • Submit only one photo per household.
  • Use a landscape (horizontal) view that encompasses the entire front garden.
  • No pets, people or easily identifiable house numbers should be shown.
  • Aim to take the photo during the daytime for the best lighting.
  • Acceptable file formats are JPG or PNG (in high-resolution quality).
  • Photo must be submitted using the registration form or by submitting a photo using #GardensofBrampton .
  • The best location to photograph your garden is from the curb view.

Selection criteria

Submissions will be evaluated in partnership with the Brampton Horticultural Society and Chinguacousy Garden Club based on:

  • Visual Appeal: Overall visual impact, colour and texture; harmony and balance. (Tip: Remove any winter lights)

  • Overall Appearance: Effective use of space and design coordination between plants and other elements.

  • General Maintenance: Quality of care in pruning, weed and disease control; use of environmentally friendly methods like mulching and drought-tolerant planting.
  • Individuality: Creative use of special features like ponds, garden sculptures, rockeries or themed gardens.

Judging will take place in August, and those being recognized will be contacted in early September.
