Each recommended Higher Order Transit corridor (BRT or LRT) will require further study to confirm need and identify the preferred transit solutions. Such studies would consider transit technology options, corridor alignment, lane configuration, and stop locations.
The BMP envisions a progression of transit service types. Where new higher order transit corridors are proposed, these improvements will be phased – with Zum service first, then later upgraded to BRT or LRT.
The planning for and implementation of Higher Order Transit service is conditional on the availability of funding from municipal sources and other levels of government.
