This Is Brampton: NEXT UP

After a two year wait, This Is Brampton returns to the North by Northeast (NXNE) Music Festival this June 17, 2022.

This year's showcase, This is Brampton: NEXT UP, will take place at the iconic Rivoli, located at 334 Queen Street West, Toronto and will feature the best and brightest of Brampton’s up-and-coming talent.

This year’s showcase is passionately curated by Brampton native and dynamic hip hop artist, TCspades. TC recently produced the Rising Vibes showcase at the Rose Brampton. As a performer, he appeared at SXSW in 2019 with industry heavy weights including Megan Thee Stallion and Jack Harlow.

A tireless champion for local artists, TCspades cannot wait to not only perform, but showcase fellow Bramptonites to the Toronto music scene and the larger music industry.

This is the concert that people will be asking, were you there?

So without further ado, find out who is NEXT UP:

TCspades is an artist in the truest form. Having evolved through many mediums of art, he finally found himself through music. The one constant that carried him through his life and the creative processes of his works was that he wanted to tell the most honest story he could from his perspective.

As a result, Spades has found himself accomplishing many goals in such an early stage of his career, having performed at SXSW 2019 alongside names such as Megan Thee Stallion, Jack Harlow, and Baby Keem. TC also has had multiple singles air on Toronto’s Hip-Hop radio station Flow 93.5’s Made In Toronto mix show and accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams across Spotify in countries such as the United States, the UK, and Brazil with his latest music video on YouTube.

While the list of accomplishments is one to be proud of, TC is still hungry for more and is far from done with what he has set out to accomplish. With an appetite for more, he has his eyes set on proving himself to both his peers and himself at the highest level. But more so to have a massive impact on his community and fans who make chasing these goals possible.

Ashlye is an early emerging artist from Brampton, Canada. This singer and songwriter strive to bring music that heals, expresses and touches upon souls other than her own. Through covers and original renditions of artists, she's inspired by, "Ashlye" never misses to add her unique touch. This genuine artist connects influenced sounds of R&B and soul with a history of classical by the warmth and passion of her voice. Her music captivates experiences and emotions when words limit the language of expression.

Throughout the years, Ashlye had lost her passion for music. Music has been an active part of her life since the age of 6, from private lessons, throughout high school and majoring in music in university. It became a heavyweight that led to burnout and loss of love for the art itself. As Ashlye began to feel like she was losing herself through the academics of music and experiences of life, she then turned it into a practice of healing and expression. In hopes to continuously heal and recover her soul, the motive of her success derives from impacting the souls of others and being the image to be inspired by.

With influences from artists like Jazmine Sullivan, Frank Ocean, Musiq Soulchild, Ne-Yo and more, "Ashlye" is the next artist to be. The Brampton native will have listeners turn an eye on her talents and uniqueness that isn’t represented yet. "Ashlye" is on the move with her 2nd single "Expression" out on now making another step to the gateway of her soul.
