Homeowner Inspections

Inspection services are provided for construction projects for various reasons, including:

  • Ensuring compliance with the health, safety and structural requirements of the Building Code and relevant by-laws
  • Ensuring construction is completed in accordance with the approved plans
  • To answer questions and guide the homeowner or contractor in completing the construction project correctly

As the owner of the house it is ultimately your responsibility to call for inspections.  If inspections are not requested at appropriate times, uncovering the construction will be required. 

Note: Once you have picked up your permit, please review all documents for changes that may have been made to the submitted drawings.  If any changes raise concern please review them with your plans examiner.

Attached to your approved plans will be a permit card and a card with required inspections indicated.

Note: Please ensure that the permit drawings are kept on site at all times during construction and available during inspections.
