Flags at Half-Mast

Flags at City of Brampton facilities and fire stations are at half-mast to honour the life of active Brampton Fire and Emergency Services Firefighter Dave Thewlis. Dave was a valued BFES member since 2002, and has spent his entire career serving the Brampton community. He will be immensely missed. The thoughts and prayers of the entire fire department and the Corporation are with his wife, children and extended family.
The half-masting of national, provincial and municipal flags is a protocol whereby honour and respect is demonstrated by the City of Brampton. The act of half-masting is a dramatic visual statement, which reflects the collective sorrow and mourning of the public.
On such occasions, information will be provided here.
