Update on incident at 165 Kennedy Road South and support services available

Earlier this morning, Brampton Fire and Emergency Services responded to a high-rise fire at 165 Kennedy Rd S, Brampton, ON.

Brampton Transit buses are on scene providing temporary warming services and a warming centre has been established by Brampton Emergency Management Office, Region of Peel Human Services and Red Cross at Century Gardens Recreation Centre at 340 Vodden St E, Brampton, ON for those affected by this incident. Brampton Animal Services is also on site to support those residents with pets.

The building is undergoing a comprehensive assessment of the utilities and services. The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) has arrived and the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management will be on scene at noon. Brampton Fire remains on scene to assist with the investigation.

Information on when residents can reoccupy their units will be made available following assessment of the building. 

The safety and wellbeing of our residents is of utmost importance, and in partnership with the Region of Peel and Peel Regional Police, we are working to ensure those impacted are receiving the support that they need.
