UPDATED | High winds across City of Brampton

BRAMPTON, ON – High winds and rain are currently passing through the City of Brampton.  As a result call volumes to Service Brampton are higher than normal.  For non-urgent requests (such downed branches, debris), residents are asked to please email 311@brampton.ca. For urgent requests such as down traffic signs or trees blocking traffic please call 311 and stay on the line. For emergencies residents should still continue to call 911.

High winds have the potential to blow debris around. For their own protection, until the current weather passes, residents are encouraged to stay indoors.

Power Outages

There are several reported power outages across the city.  For more information, including estimated restoration times, residents are encouraged to check the Alectra Utilities website www.bramptonhydro.com. They can also check Alectra’s Power Outages Map which can be found here.

Anyone who encounters downed power lines should stay away from them and call 911.

Downed Trees

There are some trees down across the city.  Crews and contractors are working to clear these from roadways and paths as quickly as possible. Should you encounter a downed tree that is not blocking traffic please email 311@brampton.ca.  If the tree is in a roadway and is blocking traffic call 311 to report it.

UPDATED INFORMATION Residents looking to dispose of damaged trees and brush resulting from the windstorm can take them to the Region of Peels Recycling Centres. For more information, including location and hours of operation, click here.
