Five new members inducted into Brampton Sports Hall of Fame

​BRAMPTON, ON (May 13, 2021) – Each year, the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame (BSHF) celebrates the accomplishments of individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of sport in Brampton. In 2021, the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame welcomes five new inductees for excellence in sport.

Orlando Bowen will be inducted under the Athlete category for his success in football. A star athlete in several sports while growing up in Brampton, Bowen earned a football scholarship to play in the NCAA and played professionally in the Canadian Football League.

Kenneth Condie will be inducted into the Builder category for his dedication to horseshoes. Condie is the first member of horseshoe discipline to be inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame. He has been the driving force behind the Brampton Men’s Horseshoe Club since he joined in 1994 and was appointed to the committee in 1997.

Timothy Trimper will be inducted under the Athlete category for his dedication to hockey in Brampton. Trimper made history for the Brampton Minor Hockey Association (BMHA), when he became the first player from the organization to sign in the NHL, debuting in 1979 with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Zeny Lipinski will be inducted under the Veteran category for contributions to lacrosse. Lipinski has contributed in all aspects of lacrosse, from playing to being an executive since he began playing the sport in Brampton in 1957.

Robert Sanderson will be inducted under the Builder category for dedication to lacrosse. Sanderson’s involvement with the Brampton Excelsiors began in 1969. He has managed the Major Excelsiors, and the Canadian Box Lacrosse team where they won the gold medal at the World Games in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania under his management.

The Brampton Sports Hall of Fame was founded in 1979 by a group of dedicated sport enthusiasts in conjunction with the City of Brampton. It is located in the CAA Centre on 7575 Kennedy Road South.
