Brampton celebrates Sikh Heritage Month

BRAMPTON, ON – To celebrate Sikh Heritage Month, the City of Brampton is hosting an evening of networking, presentations and live entertainment on April 26, from 6 to 8 pm, in City Hall’s Atrium and Conservatory. All are invited to attend.

The City of Brampton recognizes April as Sikh Heritage Month and invites everyone to celebrate and recognize the important contributions that Sikh Canadians have made to Brampton’s social, economic, political and cultural fabric.

It is an opportunity to remind, celebrate and educate future generations about Sikh Canadians, and the important role they have played and continue to play in our community and across the country.

An important month for the Sikh community, April marks the creation of the Khalsa and the Sikh articles of faith. Many Sikh Canadians widely celebrated Vaisakhi, also known as Khalsa Day, on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
