City of Brampton advocates 2022 Provincial Election candidates to advance key priorities

BRAMPTON, ON (May 25, 2022) – Ahead of the June 2 Provincial Election, the City of Brampton’s Government Relations team and Members of Council are continuing advocacy to help advance the City’s key priorities.

The City’s top priorities include:

• Funding for Light Rail Transit (LRT) along Main Street to Brampton GO 
• Queen Street-Highway 7 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and regional connections
• Electrify third transit facility for e-bus fleet
• Riverwalk project – long-term flood risk solutions 
• Commitments to building better health care in Brampton (Peel Memorial expansion/third hospital/ cancer care)

The Government of Ontario is an important partner for the City. Funding received from the Province helps to build an inclusive, healthy and sustainable Brampton, and improves quality of life for residents. Read more about the City’s provincial priorities here.
