Brampton residents encouraged to check details on MPAC’s voterlookup.ca

BRAMPTON, ON (April 14, 2022) – With less than 200 days until the upcoming 2022 Brampton Municipal and School Board Election in October, it’s time to start planning to vote. The City of Brampton encourages residents to visit voterlookup.ca to ensure they have been included in the Preliminary List of Electors and that all of their information is correct.

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) maintains the Preliminary List of Electors, which is used to prepare the Voters’ List for the election. Voterlookup.ca is an easy-to-use online service provided by MPAC.

Highlights:

• An eligible voter in the 2022 Brampton Municipal and School Board Election is a person who is at least 18 years of age, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of Brampton, or is a property owner or tenant in Brampton or the spouse of such owner or tenant.
• To confirm that your information is accurately recorded for the upcoming Municipal Election, go to voterlookup.ca and enter your municipality, full name, date of birth, and either your property address or assessment roll number.
• Even if you were on the Voters’ List in the previous Municipal Election, check the list now to verify that your details are accurate.
• If you turned 18 in the last few years, recently moved to or within Brampton or are a new Canadian citizen, update your information on voterlookup.ca.
• The provincial election is also taking place this year on June 2. Residents are encouraged to check the provincial voters’ list at eregistration.elections.on.ca to confirm or update their information.

To learn more, visit voterlookup.ca or contact MPAC at 1.866.296.6722 or TTY 1.877.889.6722.
