BRAMPTON, ON – The following is a statement by Mayor Linda Jeffrey on the Quebec City Terror Attack:
Following the terrorist attack on the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec in Quebec City, the Mayor and Members of Brampton City Council offer their deepest condolences to the families and relatives of the victims.
The People of Brampton stand with all Canadians in expressing great sadness at this senseless act of violence in a place of refuge and worship.
We strongly condemn this act of terror, and stand in solidarity with the Muslim community.
Now is the time to remain united around our shared values of inclusion, diversity and peace. Flags across the City are at half-mast, and we have been engaging local Muslim leaders and organizations since yesterday in order to organize an interfaith prayer/vigil for those who have passed in the Quebec City attack.
