Firefighter Application Process

Stage 1

Candidate Testing Services

Ontario Fire Administration Inc. provides a standardized and uniform approach to the candidate testing process for candidates pursuing a firefighting career in municipal fire departments in Ontario.

The Ontario Fire Administration Inc. Candidate Testing Services (OFAI CTS) will enable those individuals whose aptitude, interpersonal skills, physical abilities and practical firefighting skills align with the needs of municipal fire services, to pass through the system. When a candidate successfully completes the three stage testing process, they are ready to apply to Brampton Fire and Emergency Services.

Candidates are required to complete and pass all required tests with Ontario Fire Administration Inc. Click here for more information on the Candidate Testing Services.

Note: Transportation costs and any fees associated with the Ontario Fire Administration Inc. screening will be the responsibility of the applicant.

Please be advised, the City of Brampton uses both email and telephone to communicate with their applicants for open job competitions. It is the applicant’s responsibility to include a current phone number as well as current email address that is checked daily and accepts emails from unknown users. As we send time sensitive correspondence via email (i.e. testing bookings, interview dates), it is imperative that applicants check their email regularly. If we do not hear back from applicants, we will assume that you are no longer interested in the Job Competition and your application will be removed from the Competition.

Stage 2

We do not keep a pool of applicants. Interested applicants are required to apply each time opportunities are posted.

Applicants who have met all of the mandatory qualifications and successfully completed their individual screening, must apply online:
