If an eligible Brampton voter is unable to vote in person during advance voting or on Voting Day, they may choose to appoint a voting proxy to vote on their behalf. Any person whose name is on the Voters' List or who has been added to the Voters’ List may vote by proxy. If you are going away before voting begins in October 2026, you can apply to the City for a vote by proxy.
Proxy Voting Guidelines
- The person making the appointment and the person appointed must both be eligible voters in Brampton
- A person shall not appoint more than one voting proxy, and
- A person appointed as a proxy may only act for one person who is not a relative, but can act as proxy for any number of relatives who are spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren.
