2019 Program Results
Thank you for your contributions to the Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program in 2019.
The results of the walks, workshops, and surveys are available in our Resources section. Information gathered has been summarized for each neighbourhood individually, and also assembled to uncover major themes that arose across all neighbourhoods. In addition, each neighbourhood was evaluated using the City of Brampton’s Sustainability Assessment Tool, which is used to measure the sustainability performance of new development.
If you have any questions or concerns about the results or the Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program, please contact us below.
What it's all aboutMark your calendars for this summer’s Nurturing Neighbourhood Walks and Workshops!
People are at the heart of everything we do. It’s our residents who are the experts when it comes to the environment they live in. And their everyday experiences in Brampton shape their quality of life. Our Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program encourages residents to have meaningful conversations with the City – about what’s awesome, and what needs to change.
What’s this Nurturing Neighbourhoods Program all about?
The Brampton 2040 Vision indicates that in 2040, Brampton will be a mosaic of characterful and complete neighbourhoods. Action #3-1 of this Vision calls for a Complete Neighbourhood Audit. What is that? We take community feedback, connect residents to resources and in the long term create an action plan tailored specifically to their neighbourhood.
We will provide light refreshments for all attendees, and encourage everyone participating to bring a reusable water bottle. The goal of the program is three-fold: to connect residents with resources, to improve civic engagement and to empower residents to play an active role in enhancing their neighbourhood.
The day will consist of:
- Meet and greet with City of Brampton staff and community stakeholders, and a chance to meet your neighbours;
- A walk in the neighbourhood to observe the built environment, mobility, public spaces and environment, arts and culture and safety;
- Presentations from staff and community stakeholders; and
- A Neighbourhood Workshop – an opportunity for attendees to physically map neighbourhood concerns, benefits and opportunities and discuss with their neighbours.
This sounds amazing! Where do I sign up?
All walks are FREE to the public! We encourage residents of all ages, abilities and experiences to attend. You can connect with us on Facebook
