Body Content Why is the City developing a Culture Master Plan? The City is developing a Culture Master Plan to establish a community-driven vision for arts and culture that will guide and focus the policies, programs, services and investments needed over the next 10 years to make Brampton a place where community art and creative industries can thrive. This work supports the City’s larger vision for positioning Brampton as a future city and a hub for jobs and innovation. In other words, it aims to set Brampton apart from other suburban cities as a model city that people are proud to call home. Why should it matter to me?Brampton is a young and diverse city full of artistic talent, creative businesses, cultural organizations, and culture lovers and supporters. We have so much going for us, that it’s time we take the next steps in planning for our shared future. Culture can transform cities, build communities, and improve quality of life. We’re thinking bigger about what culture achieve in our city – but we need to know what’s important to you, what you see as our greatest strengths and opportunities, and what you think we can do better to make Brampton a culturally vibrant place. How can I get INvolved? We begin the formal public engagement process in January of 2018. We will be gathering ideas and input for the Culture Master Plan from residents and we will also include artists, cultural organizations, civic leaders, visitors and other stakeholders. Stay IN touch! In the meantime, if you have a question about the Culture Master Plan or innovative ideas that could help shape the future of culture in Brampton, please share it with us at firstname.lastname@example.org What will the end result be and when? The Culture Master Plan will reflect the research, analysis and input from residents, artists, cultural organizations, civic leaders, visitors and all other stakeholders across Brampton. Once the research and public engagement phases of the project are complete, we will focus on using this information to develop the vision, goals, and actions that will comprise the final Plan. The Plan will be presented to Council in June 2018 for approval.
