Welcome to LBP
Welcome to the new LBP, a creative hub for local performing arts groups, schools, education programs, dance recitals, and professional presentations that includes a 400-seat auditorium and adjacent studio space.
Located in the Brampton Civic Centre at 150 Central Park Drive, The Lester B. Pearson Theatre, affectionately known as LBP, has been home to community organizations and productions since 1973.
Through Brampton's Vision 2040 and the Culture Master Plan, the City has established a community-driven vision for the future of arts and culture in the city. These guiding documents call for investment in cultural and community spaces, including LBP Brampton.
The City was pleased to partner with Lebel & Bouliane as the Architectural Consultant and BDA Inc. as General Contractor. The venue closed in December 2018 to undergo this exciting transformation. Construction began in February 2019, and the venue reopened in October 2019. The revitalization enhanced accessibility and health and safety features, upgraded technical equipment, and created a more attractive, welcoming space, contributing to the connectivity of Brampton’s cultural ecology.
The venue is fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio and lighting systems, fixed seating with an emphasis on accessibility, completely accessible back stage facilities, including a universal washroom, a conveniently located quick-change room, and spacious dressing rooms.
This full service venue includes a box office, usher and front of house services, technical staff, and an available concession sales area.
A redesigned lobby area, not only makes LBP a more appealing venue, but also serves as a community gathering place for all visitors to the Civic Centre.
