In celebration of Brampton’s 50th birthday, the Citizen Awards program will introduce a special category for the 2023 Citizen Awards called Celebrating Brampton’s 50th.
Definition
- Recognition will be given to those individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to community social services, the development of recreational sports, the arts, and/or economic development.
- The award recognizes volunteers, not-for-profit organizations, businesses that have contributed and/or operated in the Brampton community.
Eligibility:
- Volunteers and community organizations must demonstrate ongoing contributions to the Brampton community.
- Businesses must be operating within the City of Brampton.
- Nominee should demonstrate how their service(s) have strengthened and benefited the Brampton community.
- The activity for which a nominee is considered must be of direct benefit to the City of Brampton.
- Nominees being recognized for their community service cannot be in receipt of remuneration of any kind, as that will void the nomination.
- The nominee must be a resident of Brampton, or have performed the act within the City of Brampton.
- Self-nominations and nominations of family members are not accepted.
- Posthumous nominations will not be accepted.
- Individuals that have received any Citizen Award in the past four (4) years are not eligible.
- Successful recipients of the award will be required to submit a background check.
