Advance Brampton Fund

Bell Fund
The Bell Fund's objective is to benefit the Canadian broadcasting system by encouraging the development and production of Canadian content for digital media and television, and by stimulating partnerships and learning among members of the new media and television industries.

Canada Media Fund
The Canada Media Fund (CMF) fosters, develops, finances and promotes the production of Canadian content and applications for all audiovisual media platforms. The CMF receives financial contributions from the Government of Canada and Canada’s cable, satellite and IPTV distributors.

Fondation Franco-Ontarienne
The Franco-Ontarian Foundation provides financial support for initiatives that ensure the vitality of the Franco-Ontarian community.

Independent Production Fund
The Independent Production Fund was established in 1991 to provide financial support for dramatic television series created by Canadian independent producers for Canadian private broadcasters. In 2010, the IPF expanded its mandate to include an experimental pilot program to finance drama series for the web. This program now continues to support content creators of dramatic short form series created for digital platforms. In addition, in 2020 new funding and support for the development and packaging of scripted short-form series launches.

McLean Foundation
The Foundation provides grants in a wide range of areas, including arts (visual & theatre) conservation, education, health and welfare.

Metcalf Foundation

Ontario Creates

Ontario Trillium Foundations
The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. OTF awards millions of dollars to hundreds of projects annually.

Rogers Group of Funds
Rogers Group of Funds offers support to Canadian independent producers with three different types of funding: Rogers Telefund offers loans to Canadian independent producers; Rogers Documentary Fund, Canada’s premier source of funding for documentary films and Rogers Cable Network Fund, an equity investor in Canadian programs with a first play on a Canadian cable channel.

Shaw Rocket Fund

Artists' Health Centre
The Centre is the only clinic of its kind in Canada that specializes in serving the entire artistic community. The Centre’s team specializes in addressing the specific healthcare needs of artists providing a holistic approach to health within an evidence-based framework.

Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA Dufferin-Peel)
CMHA Peel Dufferin champions good mental health for everyone and supports the full participation of those with mental illness and addictions in the life of the community. In addition to providing a variety of mental health services, we are committed to community development, mental health awareness and addressing the stigma surrounding mental illness.

COHIP Coworking Health Insurance Plan

MOYO Health and Community Services
For over two decades, Moyo (previously known as Peel HIV/AIDS Network) has provided a growing array of health promotion, education, social and support services for people living with, affected by, and at systemic risk of HIV. Artists' Legal Advice Services (ALAS)
ALAS provides free summary legal advice and information to creators living in Ontario, Canada. Our legal clinic operates virtually and is available to artists across Ontario. ​We typically assist with issues relating to contracts, defamation, copyright, trademarks and royalties or other payments.

Ontario Artist' Legal and Support Network
In partnership with Artists' Legal Advice Services (ALAS), CARFAC has launched the Ontario Artists’ Legal Access and Support Network to bring free legal support to artists across the province who have difficulty accessing these kinds of services due to systemic barriers.

Pro Bono Law Ontario
Pro Bono Ontario develops and manages high quality programs that connect volunteer lawyers with Ontarians who can’t afford a lawyer.

Dancer Transition Resource Centre

Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television
The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television is an organization that creates networking opportunities for cinema and television professionals.

Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA)
This national association represents more than 21,000 performers working in English-language recorded media. Its two Ontario branches are ACTRA Toronto (the largest branch of the Alliance) and ACTRA Ottawa. Among its services, ACTRA maintains the talent directory 'Face to Face Online and Into the Mainstream', a directory of visible and audible minority performers.

Canadian Film Centre
The CFC is a non-profit collective focused on helping Canadian creatives in the film industry accelerate their careers with the wider aim of promoting the screen-based digital industry.

Canadian Media Producers Association
The Canadian Media Producers Association is Canada’s trade association for independent producers. We represent hundreds of companies engaged in the development, production and distribution of English-language content for TV, feature film and digital media channels.

Canadian Society of Cinematographers
The CSC is a not-for profit-organization that features an expansive membership directory with students hoping to delve further into the industry, seasoned news veterans or camera operators. CSC also offers members events that focus on promoting cinematography nationally.


Charles Street Video
Charles Street Video (CSV) is a non-profit production organization established in 1981 to help support media artists. We provide affordable access to equipment and post-production editing facilities for creating videos, films, installations and other media art forms.

Directors Guild of Canada
The DGC is a Canadian labour group representing almost 5000 creative/logistic personal engaged in the screen based industry from design, direction to producing and editing. DGC is also responsible for instigating discussion and agreements surrounding issues of concern for members i.e. Canadian content conditions.

Documentary Organization of Canada

This is a national non-profit professional and advocacy organization dedicated to supporting independent documentary filmmaking and filmmakers in Canada.

Independent Media Arts Alliance
The Alliance is a member-driven non-profit national organization working to advance and strengthen the media arts community in Canada. Representing more than 100 independent film, video, audio, and new media production, distribution, and exhibition organizations in all parts of the country, the Alliance serves more than 16,000 independent media artists and cultural workers.

International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts (IATSE)

Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto

Hand Eye Society

American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada
This federation represents more than 16,500 professional musicians. Canadian Independent Music Association

This is the oldest organization in Canada that represents professional composers.

Canadian Live Music Association (CMLA)
The Canadian Live Music Association is the voice of Canada's live music industry, advancing and promoting its many economic, social and cultural benefits.

Canadian Music Centre

Art Dealers Association of Canada

Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference
The Artist-Run Centres and Collectives Conference is a Canadian organization that represents – by way of the nine artist-run centres’ associations that form its membership – over 180 artist-run centres in the visual and media arts, contemporary craft and architecture and collectives in cities and towns across the country.

Artist-Run Centres and Collectives of Ontario
Supports the growth and development of artist-directed organizations engaged in contemporary cultural practice. This website lists all the artist-run centres in Ontario. These are publicly funded, but differ from public art galleries, museums and commercial galleries in the diverse ways they promote contemporary art and help their artist members develop as professionals. This not-for-profit association represents Ontario's public and private sector art galleries. Ontario Society of Artists

Royal Canadian Academy of Arts

SF Canada
SF Canada exists to foster a sense of community among Canadian writers of speculative fiction, to improve communication, to foster the growth of quality writing, to lobby on behalf of Canadian writers, and to encourage the translation of Canadian speculative fiction. SF Canada supports positive social action.

The Ontario Poetry Society
