Brampton Arts Organization is excited to launch its Newcomer Creative Exchange program.

Developed in consultation with the community, BAO's Newcomer Creative Exchange program will create a space for Brampton-based newcomer creatives and cultural workers to gather, network, create, and learn together in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Beginning in April, BAO will host monthly creative workshops, events or field trips, dedicated to newcomer creatives and cultural workers. Workshops and events will be facilitated by guest mentors and industry professionals who will share their creative journeys and experiences.

At each gathering, participants will have the opportunity to share and develop their creative practice in a supportive environment while building relationships with each other. The program will conclude with an exhibition of artwork created by program participants.

The Newcomer Creative Exchange Series will include:

  • April 12 from 6 PM - 8 PM - Session One: Collage Night with Aditi Ganeev Sangwan
  • May 10 from 10 AM - 12 PM - Session Two: Community Gathering at Brampton Library, Mount Pleasant Village Branch
  • June 23 from 2 PM - 4 PM - Session Three: Field Trip to Peel Museum Art Gallery and Archives (PAMA) with Living Hyphen
  • July 12 from 6 PM - 8 PM - Session Four: Open Mic Night
