​Advance Brampton Fund

​The City of Brampton recognizes the unique and valuable role that the non-profit sector plays in delivering projects that meet community needs and complement City services. The Advance Brampton Fund is a community granting program that supports non-profit sector development and provides municipal funding to eligible Brampton-based non-profit or charitable organizations for strong project proposals that align with the following priority areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Recreation
  • Community Safety​​

2023/2024 Announcements

  • 2024 Non-Profit Sector Development registrations are now open. This limited seminar series is provided in partnership with The Chang School of Continuing Education and Toronto Metropolitan University. Seminars are offered for free to non-profits employees and volunteers serving communities in Brampton.
    • ​Seminars have limited attendance and fill up fast. Attendance is provided on a first come, first serve basis, so claim your spot quickly.
    • New seminars offered this year include Marketing for Non-Profits and Financial Management for Non-Profits. Due to high demand we will once again be offering Grant Writing Strategies and Best Practices, ​Strategic Planning for Non-Profits, Project Evaluation and Impact Measurement and Legal Considerations for Non-Profits. All of these ​​​seminars are offered virtually.
    • NEW advanced level seminars are being offered in Project Evaluation and Grant Writing. These seminars are in person and registrants should have attended the beginner level virtual seminars on the same topics at least once before attending these advanced seminars.

Brampton Non-Profit & Charitable Sector Development Learning Series​

The Advance Brampton Fund in partnership wit​h The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University is presenting a limited online seminar series to support the development​ and growth of the non-profit and charitable sectors in Brampton. The 2023 program year will offer 8 seminars covering topics that range from marketing to project evaluation to strategic planning. Sessions are offered only once. Register now because attendance is limited to 30 participants and spaces will fill up fast.​

6 virtual beginner level courses are offered this year and 2 in person advanced level seminars are offered. In order to attend the advanced level seminars registrants must have attended the beginner, virtually delivered, seminar on the same topic at least once before between 2022 and 2024.

Meeting links to virtual seminars will be emailed to those registered on the day of the event. The location of in person sessions will be provided to those eligible to attend on the day of the seminar. Those who have not met pre-requisites for attendance in advanced seminars will be notified via email of their ineligibility to attend.

Available Funding Streams​

The 2024 Advance Brampton Fund offers three funding streams:

Developing - Closed

Funding to be allocated: $500,000*

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities and Incorporated Non-Profits

Maximum Available Grant: Up to $12,500 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of project expenses.

Application Intake: ​Open: October 2, 2023 | Deadline: November 22, 2023 | Announcements: January 2024

Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support a project that has been run successfully at least once before in Brampton. Funding is provided to help grow a project's reach, participant engagement and overall impact.


Amplifying - Closed

Funding to be allocated: $750,000*

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities, Incorporated Non-Profits

Maximum Available Grant: Up to $25,000 in matching project funds to a maximum of 50% of project expenses

Application Intake: Open: October 2, 2023 | Close: November 22, 2023 | Announcements: January 2024

Project Types: This stream of funding is designed to support a project that has been run at least twice before in Brampton. Funding is provided to elevate the project's reach, participant​ engagement and overall impact.


New and Small Projects - Closed

Funding to be allocated: First Call: $125,000* | Second Call: $125,000*

Eligible Organizations: Registered Charities, Incorporated Non-Profits and Unincorporated Non-Profit Groups

Maximum Available Grant: Up to $5,000 (Please note the removal of the match requirement in this funding stream).

Application Intake: CLOSED | Announcements: March, 2024.

All Streams

  • One (1) application to the New and Small Projects Stream and one (1) application to either the Amplifying or Developing streams can be supported provided they are unique projects.
  • All applicant organizations must carry $2,000,000 in Commercial General Liability Insurance from the time the application is submitted until the end of the project duration as outlined within the application.
  • All projects must take place between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024
