Communities in Bloom acts as an umbrella that supports events, groups and residents of Brampton who showcase both the beauty and spirit of our great City. Join the celebrations!
Communities in Bloom is a non-profit organization that strives to increase civic pride, community spirit, environmental awareness, beautification and quality of life.
Circle of Excellence
As the International Award Winner for the 2008 Communities in Bloom international competition in the large population category, Brampton will be taking part in the Circle of Excellence this summer, a non-competitive category only Past National Winners can partake in.
The competition was tough in 2008 as Brampton was competing against:
- Aberdeen, Scotland
- Prince George, British Columbia
- Stockton-on-Tees, England
- Strathcona, Alberta
- Toronto, Ontario
Brampton retained its five bloom rating and received an impressive 92 points out of a possible 100 – the highest score of the five competing cities.
We also received very high marks in all eight judging categories: tidiness, environmental awareness, community involvement, natural and cultural heritage conservation, tree and urban forest management, landscaped areas, floral displays and turf and groundcovers.
