Construction continues along Queen Street in preparation for the first Züm line. The City of Brampton is responsible for the construction of two sections along Queen Street:
- Centre Street to Highway 410
- Highway 410 to Gateway Boulevard
The Region of Peel is co-ordinating a third section along Queen Street:
- Airport Road to Highway 50
The Centre Street to Highway 410 project includes road reconstruction and road widening. A High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane will be added from Kennedy Road to Highway 410. BRT infrastructure will be added and installed at three major intersections – Centre Street, Kennedy Road and Rutherford Road. BRT infrastructure includes queue jump lanes, bus bays, station stops and major technology upgrades.
The City’s work from Highway 410 to Gateway Boulevard includes intersection reconstruction and BRT infrastructure installed at six intersections: West Drive, Dixie Road, Bramalea Road, Glenvale Boulevard/Finchgate Boulevard, Torbram Road and Gateway Boulevard/Chrysler Drive.
The Region of Peel’s work from Airport Road to Highway 50 includes road reconstruction and road widening as well as BRT infrastructure installed at five intersections: Airport Road, Goreway Drive, McVean Drive, Gore Road and Highway 50.
