Swimming Lessons at Professors Lake!

Lessons will begin Monday August 16th, and will run everyday of the week for five - 45 minute classes rain or shine (unless its thunder/lightning). Registration includes admission to beach after lesson (+ 1 adult/guardian): $31.75 Value!

NEW - Read & Register Online!!

Recreation ProgramsRecreation Program Guide is now available for viewing online.  The Recreation Program Guide will no longer be delivered with the Brampton Guardian. The interactive program guide will provide direct links to e-registration, making the application process accessible and convenient. This will reduce the City’s paper usage by 18 tons per edition (equivalent to 140 trees) and support our commitment to the environment.  Registration begins Monday August 9th, 2010.

"When registering your child for more than one level of swimming or skating over two seasons, progress to the next level cannot be guaranteed until your child has successfully completed the previous level. We will try to accommodate changes in your registration should this unforeseen circumstance arise."
expandProgram Guidelines
"It is the goal of our staff to provide your child with an enjoyable and safe program. Unless otherwise noted within the various program sections of the brochure, participants must be the required age as of December 31 in the year in which the program begins. Staff are to be informed of any family or behavioural concerns. We will make every effort to accommodate your child’s needs, however, we reserve the right to withdraw your child from the program should their behaviour cause harm to themselves, participants, staff or property."

"Refunds and transfers are available upon request, some conditions apply. Please inquire at any registration location."
expandDeclined/Returned Payments
"Any cheque or credit card payment that is not cleared from a financial institution will be subject to an administration fee of $35 including GST. Cancellation of membership will result if two or more consecutive payments are declined or returned."
expandLost “CLASS Card” Fee
"We will be happy to replace your lost “CLASS Card” at no charge for a first time occurrence, however a second lost card in any given year will be subject to a $10 replacement fee."

"A surcharge fee of 25% per person per program, up to a maximum of $50 per person per program per session, will be added to the registration fee of all non-residents. Non-residents do not qualify for special discounts. For the purposes of this section, City of Brampton ratepayers are considered residents."
expandSenior Discounts
"Senior citizens (65 and over) will receive a 25% discount on all registered programs in this brochure that are not operated exclusively for seniors. Material fees, if applicable, are payable at the full rate."
expandFamily Discount 10%
"Register three or more children (17 years of age and under) from the same family at the same time, in the same session and receive a 10% discount. Note: restrictions may apply."

"City of Brampton staff will provide emergency first aid in the event of injury. Participants are responsible for their own hospital and medical coverage."

"The City of Brampton Recreation Division reserves the right to cancel or alter any program information outlined in this brochure without prior notice."
expand“Adverse” weather-related closures
"Every effort will be made to ensure that all recreation centres remain open during regular hours of operation, with programs and services to the public continuing to operate as normal. In the event of severe, adverse weather, participants are recommended to call the recreation centre one hour prior to their scheduled program to confirm its operation."
expandFacility Rental User Liability Insurance Program
Effective February 2010, the City of Brampton will be implementing a Rental User Liability Insurance Program. This program will be offered to rental users of City of Brampton facilities (i.e. ice, fields, gyms, floors, rooms and picnic areas) who do not carry their own, or adequate insurance when renting a City facility. This program provides individuals and/or groups renting a City of Brampton facility or space a straightforward and affordable avenue to obtain liability insurance protection.
