Honour Guard
Brampton Fire and Emergency Services Honour Guard
Captain Charlie Martin founded the Brampton Fire and Emergency Services Ceremonial Honour Guard twenty-five years ago. The initial concept was simply for parades and particularly to show our appreciation to the veterans of both world wars and the Korean War on Remembrance Day.

What started out as fifteen members in standard uniform with no colour party, has grown into an almost forty-member colour party - through the hard work of the co-ordinators Mike Hasz and Chris Arthey. Chris has been instrumental in getting special uniforms, flags, and other materials, which make the Honour Guard a proud and envied ambassador for the City of Brampton. Instructors Tony Feast and Rick Dale keep the Honour Guard looking smart and orderly during the functions they attend.
With the support of Mayor Susan Fennell and Fire Chief Andy MacDonald, the Honour Guard has attended functions in New York City, Worcester, Mass., Buffalo, NY, Yellowknife, Ottawa and recently Winnipeg. The Honour Guard also attends the graduation ceremony of our rookie firefighters as they begin their career in this proud and noble profession. It is a joyous moment for new firefighters, parents, family, friends and the Honour Guard.
Due to the nature of the job, a majority of the functions the Honour Guard attend is to rightfully pay respects to our brothers and sisters who have fallen in the line of duty. The creed of the Honour Guard is to uphold their memory, dedication, courage and willingness to put their lives on the line.
