Project Details - Schedule C
The City of Brampton has completed a Class Environmental Assessment for improvements to Queen Street East between Centre Street and Highway 410. To address operational deficiencies, increased transit service (Acceleride corridor) and the need for additional east-west capacity in the area, a number of alternatives were examined as part of the study including the potential widening of Queen Street to six lanes, high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, reserved bus-lanes (RBL), cross-sectional elements, intersection improvements including queue-jump lanes and traffic operations, and the overall impact of such improvements on the social, cultural and natural environments.
The study was carried out in accordance with the planning and design process for Schedule ‘C’ projects as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2007), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
