Project: Class Environmental Assessment
Status: EA Complete

Project Details - Schedule C

The City of Brampton has initiated a Class Environmental Assessment for improvements to Heritage Road from Steeles Avenue to the future Rivermont Road (formerly known as Riverview Heights Road), approximately 460 metres north of Embleton Road. In order to best address operational deficiencies and the need for additional north-south capacity in the area, a number of alternatives will be examined as part of the study. The alternatives may include, but are not limited to, the potential widening of Heritage Road to four lanes, cross-sectional elements, intersection improvements, traffic operations, and the overall impact of such improvements on the social, cultural and natural environments.

The study is being carried out in accordance with the planning and design process for Schedule ‘C’ projects as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (October 2000, as amended in 2011), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
