Emergency Preparedness Month - May 2011
Celebrating 10 Years
Every year, the first week of May is Emergency Preparedness Week in Canada. The intent of this week is to promote, educate and bring about awareness concerning emergency management planning and personal preparedness.
In 2011 the Brampton Emergency Measures Office is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and we have expanded the event to a full month. The launch of Emergency Preparedness Month was held on April 30th at the Cassie Campbell Community Centre.
Other events planned for Emergency Preparedness Month include interactive displays at select recreation centers and emergency preparedness education modules delivered to elementary school students in Brampton. Emergency Preparedness Ontario also hosts events. For more information, click <here>.
