Building Division Sign Permits Welcome to the sign permit application page. A permit is required any time you wish to erect a sign on the ground or attached to a building, regardless of whether it is a permanent or temporary sign.

The City of Brampton places a high value on the community’s appearance and safety. To maintain an attractive appearance and ensure a safe environment, the City regulates signs to avoid visual clutter and ensure traffic and pedestrian safety.

Permanent Signs

The information below applies to signs attached to or supported by a building as well as permanent and temporary ground signs.

Window Signs

The information below applies to signs displayed on windows or visible to the public through a window.

Portable Signs

The information below applies to signs designed to be readily moved from one location to another.   Portable signs include, but are not limited to, mobile signs, banners, inflatable signs and A-frame signs.

Calling For Inspections

Once your application has been approved you will be called to pick up your permit, your permit is not issued until you have picked it up and paid any outstanding fees.
