expandSki/ Snowboard Instructor

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans for program participants
  • Assist with special promotional events
  • Ensure Snowboarders wear a helmet and have a snowboard leash on their personal equipment
  • Assist in setup/teardown of terrain garden /program signs/program tools, as required
  • Maintain snowboard park elements

Qualifications:

  • Current Standard First Aid Certificate/CPR-C
  • Current Level 1 or 2 Certification, Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) or Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI)
  • Knowledge of The Alpine Responsibility Code
  • Excellent Customer Service and Public Relations
  • Flexible to work variable hours, including evenings/weekends/Holiday
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check, at their own expense, prior to commencing employment

expandSki/ Snowboard Assistant Director

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform teaching assignments when required
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Develop a complete understanding of Ski Hill Safety Rules, Program progression and promotional material
  • Assist in planning and working all Snow School functions, special events and competitions
  • Assist with all on-hill training, maintain training records, and develop instructors as needed
  • Assist in the design and implementation of the Instructor’s Apprentice Program
  • Assist with performance reviews

Qualifications:

  • Related supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of program progression and advertisement medias
  • Knowledge of The Alpine Responsibility Code
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR-CCurrent Level 1 or 2 Certification, CSIA or CASI

Major Responsibilities:
  • Patrol Snowboard Park for unsafe equipment, assist in maintaining take off and landing area for elements
  • Provide ski hill coverage in case of incident or accident
  • Provide First Aid assistance
  • Check and maintain first aid kits and toboggans daily
  • Ensure program participants and rental equipment adheres to all safety requirements, including snowboard leash, no plastic boards, ski brakes and helmet use
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Regular inspection (start and end of shift) of Ski Hill to ensure grounds are in safe condition
Qualifications:
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR C
  • Current Canadian Ski Patrol System certification (C.S.P.S.)
  • Knowledge of The Alpine Responsibility CodeReliable transportation
  • Excellent communications skills coupled with exceptional customer service skills

  • Maintain an organized and efficient rental shop operation
  • Recruitment, training and scheduling of all rental shop staff
  • Supervise rental attendants with a hands-on leadership approach
  • Responsible for entire ski and snowboard fleet, and end of season equipment maintenance
Qualifications:
  • Related supervisory experience

expandLift Attendant

Primary Function: Ensuring a safe environment for customers around and on the lift.

Reports to: Operations Supervisor 

Position Duties:

  • Responsible for safe and orderly loading and unloading of surface lifts.
  • Ensure that lift tickets and season passes are valid.
  • Maintain ramp areas of lifts, towlines, signage and safety and control of the tubers.
  • Assist with the setup and take down of lift corrals and deceleration mats.
  •  Responsible for lift area maintenance including but limited to shoveling snow and lifting ramp covers. 
  • May be responsible for opening and/or closing the Tube Park and Wonder Carpet Lift.
  • Assist with the set up of lift corrals and deceleration mats. Maintain tow lines, ramps, signage and mazes to approved standards.
  • Continually monitor lift equipment, tubes, and fencing. Report unusual sounds or changes in operating conditions to supervisor or designate.
  • Ensure a safe and controlled descent of tubers.
  • Provide excellent customer service including assisting guests using the Tube Park, explain park rules and how to use the park.
  • Ensure that the approved operating procedures are followed in accordance with the lift operations manual.
  • Ensure the understanding, application and adherence to Corporate Policies & Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all employees and volunteers.
  • Ensure all policies and safety regulations are enforced
  • Report all accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow-up, in a timely manner
  • Inform the Lift Supervisor of any unusual or improper occurrences within the operation of the assigned ropeway, or change in weather or ground conditions that may affect guests’ safety.
  • Maintaining a safe and attractive visitor environment keeping buildings, ramps, mazes and surrounding areas clean at all times.
  • Perform other duties as required to contribute to the team effort and achieve the objectives of the City of Brampton.
  • Maintain required certifications current and provide a copy upon request.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work under adverse conditions.
  • Able to handle physical demands of the job.
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR-C/AED from one of the following; Life Saving Society, Red Cross, St. John’s or Canadian Ski Patrol System.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
