Animal Services

expandConcessions Attendant: Entry Level

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality food services following operating and food preparation standards
  • Verify floats, cash handling and balance at end of shift
  • Product merchandising and record spoilage
  • Provide exceptional customer service by following the 5-step service program
  • Maintain cleanliness standards of equipment and area
  • Administrative duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 9 education
  • Previous cash handling and sales experience, an asset
  • Customer service training
  • Excellent communication  and customer service skills
  • A desire to work in the service industry
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Standards
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check, at their own expense, prior to commencing employment

Rate of Pay:

Minimum wage to $9.60 per hour.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-level of front-line customer service
  • Answer telephone calls in a professional manner
  • Provide program information and program availability
  • Process program registrations and facility bookings
  • Accept payments for program registrations and facility bookings

Qualifications:

  • Grade 11 education
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check, at their own expense, prior to commencing employment

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-level of front-line customer service
  • Answer telephone calls in a professional
  • Provide program information and program availability
  • Process program registrations and facility bookings
  • Accept payments for program registration and facility bookings
  • Respond to customer concerns/complaints
  • Provide administrative support to the Facility Clerk
  • Assist training Customer Service Representatives I
  • Balance and verify daily revenue
  • Complete administrative paperwork and reports

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Education or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in a recreation/office environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Computer skills (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent Customer Service and Communication skills
  • Able to deal with difficult situations in a professional manner
  • Good decision making and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently or part of a team
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check, at their own expense, prior to commencing employment

expandFacility Attendant: Entry Level

Major Responsibilities:

  • Cleans and maintains facility: sweeps, washes and strips floors, vacuums, washes windows and doors, clean washrooms, change rooms, empties garbage, etc.
  • Liaises with the public to provide information regarding the facility, to arrange room rentals, etc.  Monitors user functions to ensure that building security is maintained and the rental contract is adhered to.  
  • Sets-up meeting rooms for user functions including large weddings, dances etc.  Cleans rooms and takes down chairs, tables, etc. following each function.
  • Records incidents of injury, vandalism, etc.
  • Maintains building grounds, shovels snow, clears ice in winter, landscaping in summer, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Completed Grade 9 education
  • Current First Aid / CPR Certificate
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Health and safety standards knowledge
  • Ability to perform shift work
  • Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal safety equipment and clothing
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check, at their own expense, prior to commencing employment

Rate of Pay:

Minimum wage to $11.60 per hour.

expandSenior Concessions Attendant/Bartender

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality food services following operating and food preparation standards
  • Opening and closing procedures
  • Accountable for cash handling procedures including balancing at the end of the shift
  • Provide exceptional customer service by following the 5-step service program
  • Maintain cleanliness standards of equipment and area
  • Complete daily inventory spoilage report and all inventory functions/reports
  • Order, receive and check stock
  • Assists in secondary orientation and follow up training of junior staff
  • Assists with special events as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 11 education
  • 2 years sales/service experience
  • 18 years of age or older (bartender only)
  • Point-of Sale/Computer skills       
  • Previous cash handling experience
  • Smart Serve Training / Certificate
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Customer service training
  • POS/Computer skills, an asset
  • Proven problem solving and conflict resolution skills with the ability to use sound judgment and diplomacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with exceptional customer service skills
  • Solid planning, organizational and prioritizing skill
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check, at their own expense, prior to commencing employment

Rate of Pay:

$10.25 to $12.00 per hour
