Planning, Design and Development

Department Overview:
The Planning, Design and Development Department works to ensure the planning and development of a distinctive urban municipality within the Greater Toronto Area.  While managing responsible growth, the department also fosters functional and attractive development and civic design; delivers and co-ordinates the delivery of necessary infrastructure, essential community services and amenities in a fiscally sound and efficient manner; and promotes and regulates safe building practices.
