Vicky Dhillon was elected to serve as the City Councillor for Wards 9 and 10 in the 2006 municipal election.
Dhillon is an active member of the community. He was the President of the Brampton-Springdale Federal Liberal Riding Association. Vicky now represents the residents of Wards 9 and 10, two of the fastest growing wards in the City of Brampton.
As Councillor, Vicky participates on a number of committees. He is Chair of Community Servies, Vice-Chair Planning Design and Development Committee, The Citizen Interview Committee, Brampton Public Library Committee, Brampton Seniors Council, Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) Consultative Committee, Humber Watershed Alliance, and the City of Brampton's Election Ad Hoc Committee.
Vicky believes that safety and security is most important for the residents of Brampton, and he works hard to keep our city drug free and safe for our residents. For his dedication and community, work the Peel Mulitcultural Council presented Vicky with a Volunteer Appreciation Award. He also received the President Scouts Award.
Dhillon's priorities for the upcoming term include: establishing working partnerships with all levels of governments; improving regional and local road systems; opening new recreation centres in the area, more sports fields for physical activities, and increasing programs to celebrate the diversity and cultures of Brampton residents; protecting woodlots, marshes and wetlands.
Vicky understands the cultures and values in the community since he himself has been a respected member of his community having resided in Wards 9 and 10 for the last 15 years.
Dhillon is currently a resident of Ward 10. He is married and has two children.
