Brampton Environmental Planning Advisory Committee

Mandate:

To review environmental planning initiatives of strategic importance to the City of Brampton undertaken by the City, Region, Conservation Authorities, Provincial and Federal Government and provide comments and recommendations respecting the City’s position and response to these initiatives.


Purpose: 

 

To provide advice to City Council on environmental planning and policy matters with the goal of promoting the protection and enhancement of all aspects of the environment for existing and future residents of Brampton.

 

Composition:

 

5 citizen representatives:
- 1 representative recommended by the Brampton Board of Trade on behalf of the industry/business sector
- 1 representative recommended by the Urban Development Institute on behalf of the development industry

- 1 representative recommended by Sheridan College on behalf of the academic community
- 2 citizens recommended by the Citizen Interview Committee in accordance with the Citizen Appointment Procedure

Term of Office:

 

Concurrent with the term of Council, ending November 30, 2014, or until successors are appointed

 

Established By:

Recommendation PDD207-2007, approved by Council Resolution C210-2007 (September 12, 2007)

 

Meetings:

 

Quarterly on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. at City Hall

Planning, Design and Development Committee

 

Supported by:

 

City Clerk's Office

 

Honorarium:

 

- Volunteer
- Reimbursement for any expenses incurred
- Mileage is paid at the City of Brampton corporate rate when the members are required to travel on Committee business
