Start Smart Series
The Start Smart Series combines three to four introductory seminars giving you a step by step guide to starting your business right. Learn what resources will help you get started, the business structures you need to consider, the importance of writing a business plan and how to use market research to evaluate your business idea.
FREE Seminars include:
- Start Smart: Idea Generation (optional)
- Start Smart: Introduction to Entrepreneurship
- Start Smart: Introduction to Business Planning
- Start Smart: Introduction to Mareket Research
Upon completion of the series, participants receive a certificate of participation and a consultation/check-in with a business advisor. Recommendation is made to advance to the Start Smart Workshops. Each workshop is $20.00 plus HST ($10.00 plus HST for Start Smart Program Participants).

Once your business is operating you can participate in our Strengthen and Succeed Program for Existing Business. This program offers free in person or on-site (where appropriate) counseling to existing business ventures. The Enterprise Centre works with business owners and their staff to identify problems, concerns and opportunities and helps them to focus on the issues, develop alternatives, and consider courses of action. After an initial consultation, the business advisor will recommend the appropriate professional development stream(s) as offered by the Enterprise Centre.
