Her Unique Contributions
Surita Dey has been volunteering as a mentor with the Brampton Small Business Enterprise Centre for several years and she keeps coming back for more! Surita brings experience working with youth to the participants she mentors here in Brampton. She primarily acts as a sounding board for their ideas and helps them make new contacts for their businesses. The youth have benefited greatly from her contribution of ideas, contacts and resources.
Volunteer role
The mentoring relationship is a special one that empowers the participants and enriches the mentor. Since the inception of Summer Company hundreds of mentors have been involved in new summer business ventures. They have been called upon to give advice, provide encouragement and at times just to listen.
Many successful business people credit early mentors as an important determinant in their success, just as many participants in Summer Company cite mentoring as the most valuable part of the program.
By volunteering to become a Summer Company mentor, business people across Ontario are playing valuable roles in their communities and in the lives of young business people. Without their commitment, knowledge and expertise, Summer Company could not be the success that it is.
