Secondary Plans
Secondary plans contain policies and mapping for districts identified within an Official Plan as requiring more detailed direction on land use, community design, natural heritage and transportation.
They provide a framework for the development of new communities and employment zones or defined smaller areas like a downtown or an existing built-up area of the City. Secondary plans typically include a land use plan and policy statements that are adopted by Official Plan Amendment into the Official Plan to ensure that their intent is legally binding.
There are more than 45 secondary plan areas in the City of Brampton as designated on Schedule "G" of the Official Plan.
