Permit Fees
In addition to the Application and Silvicultural Prescription, applicants are required to submit a permit fee of $250.00.
If the applicant/owner of the woodlot is a bona fide farmer as demonstrated by providing a "Farm Business Registration Number" on the application, as defined in the Farm Registration and Farm Organization Funding Act 1993, the permit fee shall be $25.00
Violation Penalties
Any person who contravenes any provision of the Woodlot Conservation By-law is guilty of an offence and is liable,
a) on first conviction, to a fine of not more than $10,000 or $1,000 per tree, whichever is greater; and
b) on any subsequent conviction, to a fine of not more than $25,000 or $2,500 per tree, whichever is greater.
Despite subsection 10.1 of this by-law, where the person convicted is a corporation,
a) the maximum fines in subsection 10.1(a) are $50,000 or $5,000 per tree, whichever is greater; and
b) the maximum fines in subsection 10.1(b) are $100,000 or $10,000 per tree, whichever is greater.
