Santa Maria Foods Moves Head Office to Brampton Location

Santa Maria Foods, a producer and importer of deli meats and other specialized grocery products, made its move from Toronto to Brampton official last weekend by hosting an open house and barbecue at its new location at 10 Armthorpe Road, near Goreway and Steeles Ave East.

Santa Maria Foods operated the production facility in Brampton for a number of years and in August 2007 made the decision to relocate the head office function from Toronto to Brampton. Overall, 50 sales and administration employees, including the executive team, have relocated to the Brampton facility. The Brampton facility now employs a total of 140 people with the new additions.

Approximately 7,500 people work in the food processing sector in Brampton and the sector has been forecasted to grow modestly by 2.2% per year overall. Employment has grown by approximately 5.5% -6.5% in the past decade.

For Brampton, adding another head office banner to Brampton's corporate inventory demonstrates confidence in this marketplace and Santa Maria joins an excellent roster of consumer sector headquarters already calling Brampton home.
