Brampton to host BMO Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships for second straight year

Brampton, Ontario will once again play host to a major figure skating event. The 2011 BMO Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships will be held at the Powerade Centre from February 24-26, 2011. Brampton also played host to the same event last year.

“Brampton has proven itself as a terrific host for this event,” said Skate Canada CEO William Thompson. “We are pleased to be returning to this great skating area again this year. The volunteers from Skate Canada Central Ontario are outstanding and we know that once again the enthusiasm of the fans for this competition will raise the noise level to the rafters. We have many of the best synchronized skating teams in the world, and this will be a dynamic national championships for them.”

The 2011 BMO Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships will bring approximately 1,000 skaters from across the country to Brampton.

Teams will compete for national titles in the senior, junior, open, intermediate and novice categories. The top two senior teams will represent Canada at the 2011 ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Helsinki, Finland, taking place April 1-2, 2011.

Tickets will go on sale in January online at www.ticketmaster.ca, by phone at 416.870.8000 or in person at the Powerade Centre box office. All-event tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for ages 12 and under. Single day tickets are $20 for adults and $8 for ages 12 and under, (all prices plus surcharges) and children under 2 are free.
