Brampton Wins Industry Awards For Economic Development

The City of Brampton was honoured by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) with three, first place awards and four, honourable mentions, presented at its 49th Annual Conference held on Feb. 1.

The Council is an independent organization aimed at enhancing and developing an economically viable and environmentally responsible Ontario. Every year EDCO recognizes standout initiatives and programs in municipal economic development. The Council provides a forum to enhance professional development, advance economic development as a profession and promote, assist and foster economic prosperity within our municipalities in the province of Ontario.

This year, Brampton won in the categories of:

Business Development, Publications for “Annual Report City of Brampton”
Business Development, Advertising for “Advertising Campaign, Congratulatory Campaign”
Cooperative Advertising for “Downtown Brampton, Fabulously Festive”
Jeff Baines, Manager of Economic Development, received the awards on behalf of the City at the EDCO President’s Dinner, held at the Marriott Eaton Centre in Toronto. “It is a great honour to be recognized by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario for our initiatives,” said Baines. “These awards are a testament to the hard work, creativity and dedication of our staff.”

In addition to winning three awards the City of Brampton received Certificates of Recognition in four other categories including brochure/ specialty publication, newsletter, technology, and advertising campaign.
