Modular construction company ModSpace Canada has increased its services thanks to an enhanced manufacturing facility in Brampton, Ontario, growing business capabilities and services. With the Brampton facility, ModSpace is also taking an important step towards reducing environmental impacts and achieving superior economic performance in modular buildings. Modular buildings produced in the Brampton Facility are using green materials, energy efficient designs and advanced HVAC systems to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly buildings. With LEED Certified employees, ModSpace is ready to deliver greener or LEED certified buildings for customers.
"Our new Brampton facility not only provides a better work environment for our employees, but the facility's improved building technologies make it possible to deliver quality and customization options that other modular building providers can't compete with, at the speed that traditional construction can't hope to match," says Marc Boily, SVP of ModSpace Canada operations.
ModSpace customer success stories span many industries, with projects such as banks, corporate offices, hospital buildings, in-plant offices, schools, sales pavilions, workforce housing, and more. And their success hasn't gone unnoticed.
Most recently, ModSpace was honored with a Modular Building Institute (MBI) Award of Distinction for a project completed for Vancouver City Savings Credit Union (VanCity). The MBI "Awards of Distinction" is the modular building industry's premier award competition judged by a panel of industry experts on architectural excellence, technical innovation, cost-effectiveness, energy efficiency, and calendar days to complete.
ModSpace worked with the client to address the stringent requirements of a constrained metropolitan setting, restrictive municipal development regulations, and precise client needs for temporary modular space. The modular building was designed to allow the Credit Union to serve its customer base while the branch underwent renovation, providing cost-effective, energy-efficient temporary space. And when the Credit Union's renovations are complete, the modular building will be recycled for similar use with other Credit Union branches, saving the client as much as 60 percent of the cost of building at the next location.
"Projects, such as VanCity, can be built faster and for less cost using modular construction technology," says Marc Boily. "Advanced technologies and production capabilities at our Brampton facility further enable us to increase speed, improve the quality, longevity, and environmental friendliness of our customers' modular buildings, while further reducing costs. Modular is the future of construction, and ModSpace is the future of modular."
