Ontario’s Provincial Government is further investing in the Brampton Civic Hospital so that patients have improved access to hospital services following the completion of the new hospital.

“Our government continues to work with William Osler Health Centre as it increases program and service volumes at the new Brampton Civic Hospital to meet community service needs,” said David Caplan, Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. “Services at the new hospital will continue to grow as will its impact on the people living in the community.”

Queen’s Park is providing additional operating funding of $14.3 million to William Osler Health Centre to support increased patient care services at the hospital.

“Today’s investment ensures that funding for Brampton Civic Hospital better reflects the current demand for services and will put us in a stronger position to meet the growing health care needs of the residents of Brampton and surrounding communities," said Ken White, Supervisor, William Osler Health Centre. “With the government’s continued support, the Brampton area will continue to have one of the finest hospitals in Ontario.”

Since the hospital opened in October 2007, the Provincial Government has provided more than $90 million in post-construction operating funding. The money has helped the hospital increase surgery volumes, provide additional obstetric services and added 15 intensive care and 12 neonatal beds.

At the time of construction Brampton Civic Hospital was one of the largest infrastructure projects in Canada.
