The Yves Landry Foundation, in conjunction with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development has established the AIME Grant (Achieving Innovation and Manufacturing Excellence), offering manufacturers up to $50,000 to offset the costs of training related to innovation.
“This unique program recognizes that one of the best ways for Ontario’s manufacturers to remain competitive on a global basis is to embrace innovation in every area of their business.” says Karyn Brearley, Executive Director of the YVL.
With the help of AIME funding, innovation can be achieved in two significant areas.
Developing HQP (Highly Qualified People)
AIME will fund costs related to training programs that specifically develop Highly Qualified People (HQP) in specific areas that support innovation. This includes training personnel to build their expertise in areas that will enhance the competitiveness of the company. The innovation can relate to product, process, design and development, quality or any other area of business.
Retraining Personnel to Support Major Innovation
This funding is open to all Ontario Manufacturing companies in all segments that meet the following criteria:
- Between 15 – 1500 Employees
- In business in Ontario for at least 3 yrs or can demonstrate a solid financial footing
- Manufacturing facility or facilities located in Ontario
