On Friday, February 6, 2009, manufacturing companies in Brampton are invited to attend a free information session on how to improve the way you innovate in the heat of a recession. Process Improvement/Lean/Six Sigma consultant and Professor Michael Kukhta will conduct a 1-hour seminar on how to develop the tools and the mindset for keeping innovation alive in your organization during a slowing economy.
Those companies that attend the event will learn about special grants being offered to Ontario manufacturers by the Yves Landry Foundation. Businesses are eligible to receive up to $50,000 to support new training initiatives or the re-training of existing personnel.
“We know that many Canadian businesses in the manufacturing sector are coping with skilled labour shortages,” said Karen Brearly, Executive Director of the Yves Landry Foundation. “These grants are our way of helping companies invest in technological education and skills training.”
