On Monday January 19th Vlad Stritesky, President and CEO of Brampton headquartered Trow Global Inc. (Trow) announced that the Company was honoured by the 2008 Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) Business Achievement Awards. This annual awards program recognizes firms for their strong financial performance and growth as well as for specific projects that are significant in the advancement of the environmental industry. Trow earned the Bronze Medal in the M & A Awards - Large Deals category.

Trow won the Bronze Medal award for completing a deal in June, 2008 with General Atlantic LLC (GA) whereby GA took a minority position in Trow. The deal was noteworthy both because GA took a minority interest in Trow and because it completed the transaction using its own equity rather than debt— both uncommon practices at a time when private-equity firms are using debt to take majority positions in engineering firms. The deal is also notable because Trow simultaneously completed its merger with Teknika HBA, a Quebec-based provider of a broad range of consulting and engineering services, and it provides Trow with access to the capital necessary to make large acquisitions.

“This award is a great honour for Trow, and reflects our unwavering commitment to our strategic business plan of focusing on the needs of our clients, and expanding our breadth of services and expertise.” said Vlad Stritesky of Trow. “Teaming up with a leading global investor like GA, while merging with a leading engineering firm, will accelerate our growth and is critical for our expansion.”

Founded in 1957, Trow has grown in size into one of Canada’s largest engineering and consulting firms.
