New Giant Tiger Store to ROAR into Brampton

On February 2nd, 2006 Giant Tiger Stores Limited officially announced plans to open a new location in Brampton this Spring. The 38,000-square-foot store is set to open in the Kingspoint Plaza at 370 Main Street North (Highway #10) in the former A&P grocery store location.
"We are all very excited about bringing the Giant Tiger shopping experience to the GTA this Spring with new locations in both Brampton and Mississauga," said Jeff York, the President of Ottawa-based Giant Tiger Stores Limited. “Customers in and around Brampton and Mississauga will find us to be an affordable and convenient destination for fashion clothing, groceries, and everyday basic needs."
Giant Tiger plans to open its new Brampton store on April 1st. Combined with the new Mississauga location, the two stores will employ more than 129 new team members in both full- and part-time positions.
Giant Tigers buying office is in Montreal however each store has control over the merchandise that is purchased to best suit the needs of its community.
Giant Tiger was established in 1961 in Ottawas Byward Market and has grown to become a network of 159 locations throughout Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba Saskatchewan, Alberta and New Brunswick. There are presently 99 stores in Ontario, including locations in Ajax, Newmarket, Bradford, Sutton, Acton and Bolton.
Giant Tiger Stores Limited is a privately held Canadian company.
