Partners in Project Green is Launched

Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell and over 250 businesses joined the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) and Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) for the launch of Partners in Project Green on Thursday, October 9th at Toronto Pearson's Infield Terminal.
Partners in Project Green is a growing community of business working together to green their bottom line by creating an internationally-recognized ‘eco-business zone’ around Toronto Pearson.
Through new forms of business-to-business collaboration, Partners in Project Green delivers programming that helps reduce energy and resource costs, uncover new business opportunities, and address everyday operational challenges in a green and cost-effective manner.
Project Green’s study area takes in approximately 12,000 hectares, about one-third of which is located in Brampton. Located in Brampton’s portion of the study area are over 4,600 business and an estimated 116,000 jobs.
In addition to remarks from Mayor Fennell, the evening included speeches from local political leaders, including Ontario Minister of the Environment John Gerretsen, Ontario Minister of Natural Resources Donna Cansfield, Region of Peel Chair Emil Kolb, City of Toronto Councillor Maria Augimeri, GTAA's Lloyd McCoomb and TRCA's Brian Denney.
The evening provided local businesses an opportunity to learn more about Partners in Project Green and how its programming will help them reduce their costs, uncover new business opportunities and address everyday operational challenges in a green and cost-effective manner.
In addition to the City of Brampton Partners in Project Green is supported the GTAA, MTRCA, the Region of Peel, the City of Toronto, the City of Mississauga and Woobine Entertainment.
